St. John’s is pleased to provide our high school students with the opportunity to participate in a Robotics team. Students will gain valuable real-world science and engineering skills as they design and build a robot in six weeks. They also develop leadership and communication skills as they work together on a complex project. The Robotics team has opportunities to demonstrate their robot for other students at St. John’s and in the community as well as mentor younger students. While the build season lasts six weeks, the team functions year-round and students have the option of enrolling in Robotics as a class. During build season the team meets after school and on weekends. SJMS Rangers Robotics Team 3798 participates in the International FIRST Robotics Program (http://www3.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc), competing in an annual regional competition in the spring.
